M.B.A, M.C.A, B.E

I just wanted to approach your Questions in two ways.
I. Tamil as a language is the medium the civilization in the indian subcontinent is expressed. But if the civilization as a whole(70%) is moving from middle class to upper middle class the finer things like art, poetry and other medium of expression will not have much value now, but will have value over a period of time.So the society as whole is not decaying.
II. What happens to a guy who has studied tamil ?? Tamil as a language passes on the knowledge to U, but if people cannot make use of the knowledge to come up then its their mistake, not tamil's mistake.Have U ever seen a guy taking MA or BA tamil, he would have taken that degree b'cos of any of the two reasons
1. He wanted to enjoy his youth
2.He don't wanted to work hard
If he has not taken for above reasons he will certainly come up as a poet, director, screenplay writer, school teacher or anything else
Kudiyennum Kundra vilakkam madiyennum;
Massora maythu kedum
-ThiruKural Athikaram 601
The meaning is "if the society as a whole gets lazy, then that society will bring down its own death"
So its just the laziness which keeps the guys in the lower layer of the economic pyramid rather than Tamil, Because tamil itself warn's people of it impact

I assume you don't need M.B.A, M.C.A or B.E to own a coffee stall (which charges 10 rs for a coffee) or to drive an auto (and get 5rs tips) or to own a house or to join a private sector bank, or to work as a real estate broker or to be a full time car driver (for whom salary is around 10K in Bangalore I read) or to make a movie like this.

In realty quite a few benefit from the M.C.A, M.B.A types.

Welcome Hannibal....

"But if the civilization as a whole(70%) is moving from middle class to upper middle class..."
Your opinion is based on this sentence. The point is the validity of this sentence. It is not the 70% moving.....that is the actual problem.

Also, if 70% of the middle class in moving, does that mean the civilization is moving..what about the lower class.... they are the majority in our country.. They are not moving...

2. You mention 2 reasons for a person to take tamil. The two reasons itself will clearly say that you have the opinion that only the lazy people take tamil as course. So, the real hard working individuals can go for something like MBBS, BE etc...right... Enna Nyayam thalaiva.....

Siva,
My point was not that the people (taking other courses) can not survive. I accept that they can survive and find a living.

But, my point is that they are struggling by the environment created by others..(say BE stuff guys)...

In your language, "Puthu Panakkaranga".... Ofcourse both of us know the problems created by them.. who is the reason for such huge price hike in lands.....

When you go to India, do not think of asking the change of 3 - 5 rs from the auto driver.... It is taken for granted. Both of us have already faced this.

My point is this kind of growth, where some people are having excessive money and some fighting for their bread is always dangerous.....

In another 10 years, No middle class person could stay within the city limits of chennai... they will be thrown out of the city limits.... What is the reason for this artificial price hikes....thatz the problem...

I answered to your first question "whether they will get a job ?". So you agree people with professional degrees can find some job.

Now to the next question, Can they afford to spend like the professionals ? I will ask why should they spend like professionals, say give a tip to auto drivers, or rent a place that they cannot afford. The question should be Can they live within the means ? I think so.

You have a brought up a new issue. The reason for the hike in real estate prices (which I think is unrelated to who got the professional job, Convent educated or tamil medium type). That is a different issue. One reason is when the expected return (> ~50%) is much higher than the interest rates (~10%) almost everyone borrows and invests in real estate.

Also explain this line
"My point is this kind of growth, where some people are having excessive money and some fighting for their bread is always dangerous" without sounding like a communist or a congress politician.(like equally distributing the wealth of the nation)

Also show me a hard working, bright guy who studied Tamil for the love of it and then failed in life just because he chose Tamil. This is a good plot for movie but I don't think you will find many examples.

"Also, if 70% of the middle class in moving, does that mean the civilization is moving..what about the lower class...."
in any society U cannot expect 100% people living a great life, everybody get the life they work for, if somebody sleeps(and able) 24 hrs and expect to lead a happy life, somebody is kidding here, tamil(for that mater any language) can't save such guys
"You mention 2 reasons for a person to take tamil. The two reasons itself will clearly say that you have the opinion that only the lazy people take tamil as course" I also told

1. He wanted to enjoy his youth
2.He don't wanted to work hard
If he has not taken for above reasons he will certainly come up as a poet, director, screenplay writer, school teacher or anything else
or may be an IAS or IPS.

I have few more questions here,
In tamil we had Agananuru and purananuru written Roughly between 2 bc to 2 AD(even if its written in 17th centuary I am fine), these books deal with , love seperation and psycology of lovers and strategy(purananuru) and tell me one Author who studied tamil for his life time and improvised on these subjects(or addressed the problem of the 21st centuary) ???are we growing no, we are just copying , so what all the tamil genuses are doing just copying and pasting from english, thats not hard work or creativity.
Thats why I said Nobody take tamil to improve themselves and the language but to have fun(exceptions are there)
and after all this thing if someone come to me and ask what tamil did to me I would better shoot him to kill(I am just angry at the guys who are blaming tamil for their laziness).
when we are discussing we know we all did engineering and we did slogged in our path to come here and we could see for ourselves not all our freinds are in the same place forget abt our friends even we three are not in the same plane of life. I have seen myself how engineering degree has torn the confidence of the guys, in that few thrived most of them just survived

My point is life is not a easy path, U get what U pursue theres a price U pay for what U get(I missed to watch lot of movies, believe me I just watched 7 movies till my 21st age :) )

Siva,
Leave the congress and the communist parties...But, my point is less people with more money and more people with less money is a bad combination....

It would end up in chaos..I do not support communism. I know it is a vey ideal philosophy which can not work in the real world..(But, may be I would vote for something like a "Democratic Communism")

hannibal,
I agree with the fact that 100% can not grow...But, if the majority will not grow, then that is a problem and that is exactly happening in India...

And for your second point, I do not think there is no growth...How about Bharathi, Bharathidasan, Kannadasan, Vairamuthu, Vaali, Saminatha Ayier, Thiru.V.Kalyanasundaram, Jeyakanthan, Jeyamohan, Chaunivetha, Sujatha, etc.. Do you think their works could not be considered literature...

There are more than 500 new tamil words formed just in the past 50 years... Have you ever heard a word "Pinootam" in ancient Tamil, what about "Pinnaveenathuvam"... Everything was formed just in the last century..the language is growing....

growth is an infectious cycle, take as an example TCE, there might people from diff villages, not all would have got admission from the village into TCE out of 1000 kids 2 or 3 gets into gud Engg. college, but there will be a hope for other people if my son does gud he can also join in a gud college, and lets assume the guy who got admission in tce gets a job, now hes sending money to his family in village the proud father tell all the village, now every body in the village is ready to spend money on tution or gud school assuming that his son would take their family to next level.
This whole process never happens overnite, it happens in generations, so my friend U have to have patience
My actual question is not is there any tamil authors, but my question is is there any author who did some advanced research or observation on human psycology or other fields,(vairamuttu telling how many veins are there in the body , sujatha talking abt science is not something he creates, he copies and repackages in tamil).
I will give U an example of what i mean, Take for example kamba ramayanam, He talks abt reactive mind
when kaikeyi asks rama to be sent to jungle , kamban tell that its not Kaikeyis conscious mind which thinks so but her reactive mind which draws an incident from rama's younger age(he throws stone on kaikeyi) made her to do so, and kamban explains that with an example like the ceramic salt jar in the house might break one day, but the invisible cracks starts happenning long before U notice the breaking. this is just to tell Ur actions are accumulation of past incidents.
I am not denying the fact that Barathi, Barthithasan et all are wonderful poets, but tamils is not just poems, but its content too right, where is ulavial gone, where is agam gone, where is puram(strategy) gone,I think no body is ready to take the challange of walking the uncharted waters.
Probably our next generation can continue the work when this generation is trying hard get enuf riches to get a stable life for the next gen

see there was a time in india where Poor remained poor and rich remained rich(Thanks to the Kulathozlil system and caste system in India), Now I believe all these are broken and everybody has access to knowledge and wealth is just a matter of time

hannibal,
so u say the 'development' will reach others slowly....

well..though I doubt that..If it happens, I would be heppy..

BTW, you talk about TCE...man..By any chance, do I know you???? I am not able to recongize you...

I know only one person who can quote Ramayanam..and he would certainly not keep 'hannibal' as his name...please tell ur name....
